Dragons & Monsters - poetry in motion

Dragon Orchard is a small Herefordshire commercial apple orchard.

The orchard's owners Anne & Norman Stanier run a community supported agriculture scheme which ensures the orchard's financial future. Families and individuals join the orchard to share in the apple harvest and in some of the products made from the fruit - such as apple juices, cider and other orchard produce.

The orchard has become a focus for apple linked activities and this poetry book with poems written by Charles Bennet and prose by Norman has many superb photographs of the orchard and its inhabitants taken by Richard Crompton of Monster Creative.

The book had to be printed on a suitable paper and Severnprint suggested using Cyclus Offset - 350gsm for the cover and 170gsm for the text. The paper is difficult to print with such high quality imagery as the pictures can look flat and lifeless and the paper is prone to produce spots or hickies. However the printers at Severnprint are used to a challenge and have succeeded in printing a book with lots of feel and character. And the book has been printed with the press printing alcohol free.
