There may be a few confused faces over the new Royal Mail charges, especially when you're looking to design a new brochure or newsletter, but Severnprint can help.

The main things to consider are:

• If you have decided to go for A5 instead of A4 to save on the postage make sure the thickness will not be an issue as it needs to be 5mm or less otherwise you'll still be charged the higher rate. And, the final item must be under 100g.
  
• If you want to stay with an A4 format, for example for a newsletter, ask Severnprint to quote for folding the final item to A5. A machine fold is neater than a hand fold and will push the item flatter.
  
• If you're not sure if your item will be right for the standard letter format we can provide you with a 'mock-up' so that you can check.
