Pre-Press Specialist/Digital Press Operator

Severn are looking for highly motivated, technically minded individual with excellent print knowledge to join our prepress team.
Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced evolving environment and be able to manage multiple workloads. This is a full-time position and will require flexible working hours to meet set deadlines.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
• A professional qualification in print or graphics desirable.
• Digital experience for Xerox iGen, Ricoh and Canon presses (or similar)
desirable.
• Litho pre-press experience and strong working knowledge of Imposition requirements and software (Kodak Prinergy preferable).
• Proficient in Mac and PC graphics applications including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and other Adobe products as well as MS Office and variable data software.
• Experienced artworker with creative typographical knowledge.
• Pro-active and flexible working ethic.
• A good communicator, problem solver and team-player.

Duties include
• Conduct pre-flight and advanced troubleshooting of customer supplied digital files for fonts, images, colour and printability.
• Correct any artwork, colour or font issues when needed.
• Produce accurate repro artwork files to set specification and timescales.
• Ensure all files meet requirements for the intended print and finishing needs.
• Digital press maintenance, equipment calibration, archiving, plating and making sure the automated workflow software runs smoothly.

Trainee Print Production Operative (PPO)

Severn are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team.
Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced evolving environment. This is a full-time position and will require flexible working hours to meet set deadlines. Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
Requirements
• Minimum Secondary School qualifications.
• Pro-active and flexible working ethic.
• A good communicator and a team-player.

Training and duties include
• Output of printing plates (CTP) for our litho presses.
• Maintenance of the plate making machine and up-keep of the plate making room.
• Updating and ordering stock lists for the department to maintain a constant workflow.
• Working with the pre-press team and litho printers to ensure plates are output to meet the set deadlines.
• Work flexibly in other production areas as required.
• Training to operate digital printing equipment.

Bindery/Finishing Specialist

Working in our busy Bindery Department the successful candidate must have the ability and experience to operate print finishing equipment. The candidate must be quality conscious and able to work both under their own initiative and as part of a team. They will need to be dexterous and easily adapt to a changing workflow.
Training will be provided to the right candidate with previous bindery experience.

Experience and requirements
• Guillotines.
• Heidelberg and Stahl Folders.
• Heidelberg Stitching Line.
• Laminating.
• Good working knowledge of print and impositions.
• Flexible and pro-active work ethic whilst adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
• Problem solver and team-player.
• Work flexibly in other production areas as required.

Trainee Bindery/Finishing Specialist

Working in our busy Bindery Department the successful candidate must be a quick learner and quality conscious. You will be required to work alone, but also as part of a team. You will need to be dexterous and energitic to adapt to the fast-paced and constant changing workflow.
We expect a minimum requirement of Secondary School qualifications.
The chosen candidate will assist in the department where needed and will be gradually trained on the bindery finishing equipment and processes.

Mailing Machine Operative

Severn are looking for highly motivated, experienced individual with a good knowledge of mailing output to join our team.
Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced evolving environment and able to work to tight same-day deadlines. You will be working with customer sensitive data and will be expected to work in a controlled area of the building, applicants must demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
This is a full-time position and will require flexible working hours to meet set deadlines.
Duties and requirements
• Relevant industry experience.
• Mailing machine experience.
• Experience handling sensitive data desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail is required for this position.
• Ensure that you are adhering to company procedures i.e.: quality checks on each job and ensuring that the relevant paper work relates to each customer account.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work flexibly in other Production areas as required.
